The project focuses on social network of Instagram users to explain social influence in the form of user comments. Inventing a new metric to measure social influence based on temporal factor and recursive approach, we quantify social influence of Instagram users over a period of time. Studying the model network, we were able to explain the relationship between social influence and media characteristics and answered the 3 key research questions:
- How common social influence happen?
- How much social influence is exhibited in Instagram?
- Is there correlation between social influence and hashtags/likes?
